The Philippine Council for Health Research and Development, in cooperation with Foundation for the Advancement of Clinical Epidemiology, Inc. (FACE, Inc.), UP Manila, and Social Innovation in Health Initiative (SIHI) Philippines, is implementing the project entitled, “Implementation of Open Call for Submissions, Selection and Awarding for the Gelia Castillo Award for Research on Social Innovations in Health (GCARSIH).”
GCARSIH was initiated to give recognition to change makers and highlight the innovativeness and responsiveness of various health researches in addressing the persistent societal and health system challenges. Further, the award intends to support promising social innovations for further research and development to step-up results and bring sustainable initiatives to scale.
The Award is open to all individuals, groups and institutions that have successfully developed and implemented social innovations in health in the Philippines. The duration of the implementation must be at least one (1) year.

MMHRDC will be endorsing the shortlisted entries to the National GCARSIH Secretariat for Preliminary Screening. Selected entries will then be reviewed by an independent panel of experts.
The top innovations in health will receive a cash prize, eligibility for a research and development grant, and a training package with subject matter experts to enable the project to further expand and scale. Winners will be announced by September 2020. Click
