JANUARY 2019 Call for Research Proposals 

 

 

The Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC) is looking for Junior Researchers (i.e. no previous publication in a ISI-journal or no previous publication as first author in a non-ISI, peer-reviwed journal)  within Metro Manila who are interested to get their Research funded. Successful applicants shall receive up to Php 500,000.00 to cover for personnel services and other operating expenses. The Funding will be through the Regional Research Fund Initiative of the Philippine Council for Health Research and Development. Thesis projects are not eligible for this funding mechanism.

MMHRDC 2nd International Symposium

"Food Fortification in Universal Healthcare"

 

When:  May 24-25, 2018

Where: Pan Pacific Hotel, M. Adriatico cor. Malvar St., Malate, Manila, Philippines

General Objective:

To highlight collaborative partnerships in health researches.

Specific Objectives:

  1. To showcase research work on food fortification in Universal healthcare.
  2. To provide a venue for international exchange of ideas and research findings.
  3. To provide a safe and encouraging venue for young researchers to be exposed to high quality research and science.

 

The Symposium will feature speakers from Malaysia, Thailand and USA, as well as many of our local experts who are known internationally.

To strengthen the system of collaboration among health research institutions in Metro Manila, the Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC) was established on February 13, 2009. It aims to develop and enhance capacity of institutions within and outside the region engaged and which has interest in health research, as a strategy to improve the health conditions of its people.

At present, the MMHRDC has a membership of forty (40) health research institutions including the four (4) core agencies namely, CHED, DOH, DOST, and UPM-NIH.

With a view to expanding its outreach, the MMHRDC is inviting applications for membership from health research institutions in the Metro Manila area.

The following guidelines provide the rules and procedures that govern membership in the organization of the Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium.

 

I. Qualifications for and expansion of membership

Any public, private or non-government organizations in Metro Manila which has the intent, capability and resources to undertake health research or related development activities can become a member of the MMHRDC.

 

II. Requirements

  1. Letter of intent from the institution (applicant) signed by the head of the institution
  2. Endorsement from a founding member institution of the MMHRDC
  3. Accomplished survey form (see the website downloads section Here)
