2025 Regional Research Fund (RRF) Call for Proposals 📢

The Regional Research Fund (RRF) initiative provides support to the research and development efforts of beginning researchers across regions by offering financial support for research projects with a 6 to 12-month duration and a budgetary requirement that does not exceed ONE MILLION PESOS (PHP 1,000,000.00).  Three (3) RRF projects per year are targeted to be supported by the DOST-PCHRD per region. Proposed projects are evaluated for quality and availability of funds. It is, however, important to note that preference towards OMICS-related proposals will be given. Nonetheless, all proposals must still follow the NUHRA & RHRP.

Guidelines: 

Budget requests may include allocations for professional fees of research mentors/consultants who can assist beginner researchers through conceptualization, project implementation, and writing of the final technical report. Though, allocation for capital outlay/equipment will not be supported.

Eligibility Criteria

This call for proposals is open to beginning researchers across regions. Applicants must meet the following criteria:

✔️ Project leader/primary investigator with two or fewer publications in an ISI journal and four or fewer publications in a non-ISI journal.
✔️ Project leader/primary investigator must be directly affiliated with the implementing institution.
✔️ Research focus must be aligned with NCR-RHRP and covered under NUHRA.
✔️ Proposed project budget must not exceed PHP 1,000,000.00.
✔️ Proposed project duration must not exceed 12 months.

📌 Letter of Intent to apply for necessary Clearance/Permits (e.g., PHREB-accredited Research Ethics Committee, BAI Animal Research Permit, Biosafety Clearance, NCIP, etc.)
📌 Official endorsement of agency head
📌 CVs of principal investigator and co-investigator
📌 Duties and responsibilities of project personnel
📌 Copy of detailed proposal (using DOST FORM 2 “Basic / Applied Research”)
📌 Copy of tools to be used in the research project
📌 Declaration of no conflict of interest
