About this event

BRM CollageThe Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC) successfully concluded its Basic Research Methods Workshop 2025 held on April 29–30, 2025 at Café Chez Nous, St. Paul University Manila. The two-day workshop brought together emerging researchers, faculty, and health professionals from across the consortium’s member institutions in an intensive capacity-building program designed to strengthen foundational competencies in health research.

Held annually, the BRM Workshop serves as an entry point for participants to engage in the research development pipeline, with sessions covering topics such as health research ethics, formulating research problems, study design, and crafting fundable proposals. This year’s workshop featured expert lectures, interactive activities, and hands-on sessions aligned with the Department of Science and Technology – Philippine Council for Health Research and Development (DOST-PCHRD) requirements.

Participants who complete the two-day workshop and submit their final requirements will be eligible for shortlisting into MMHRDC’s research mentoring program, where they will receive further guidance in finalizing proposals for potential funding endorsement.

MMHRDC extends its appreciation to St. Paul University Manila for serving as this year’s host institution and for their support in making the workshop possible.

The Consortium looks forward to nurturing another strong batch of novice researchers and to continuing its commitment to building a robust research culture within the region.
