The Metro Manila Health Research and Development Consortium (MMHRDC) invites all early career researchers to submit their proposals for the 2024 Regional Research Fund (RRF), to be funded in 2025. Submission has been extended until September 15, 2024. 

I. Background and Rationale

The RRF initiative supports the research and development efforts of beginning researchers in different regions, which may provide financial aid for their research projects spanning the duration of six (6) to twelve (12) months with a budgetary requirement not exceeding the amount of ONE MILLION PESOS (PhP 1,000,000.00). DOST-PCHRD targets to provide support to three (3) RRF projects per region every year, subject to the evaluation of the quality of proposals and availability of funds. 

The requested budget may include an allocation for professional fees of research mentor/consultant capable of assisting the researchers from conceptualization to project implementation and composition of the final technical report. However, allocation for capital outlay/equipment is not allowed. 

II. Who is Eligible to Apply?

1. The funding is open to EARLY CAREER RESEARCHERS, junior researchers (i.e. with two or fewer publications in an ISI journal and four or fewer publications in a non-ISI journal). 
2. Researchers must be directly affiliated with MMHRDC Member Institution, and must be a faculty member, personnel, or employee.

III. What Proposals are Qualified?

1. 1. Research proposals with a project leader/primary investigator with two (2) or fewer publications in an ISI journal and four (4) or fewer publications in a non-ISI journal
   2. Research proposals with a project leader/primary investigator who is directly affiliated with the implementing institution with a permanent position
   3. Research proposals with a focus aligned with the NCR-RHRP and must be covered under NUHRA
   4. Research proposals with a proposed budget not exceeding Php 1,000,000.00.
   5. Research proposals with a project duration not exceeding twelve (12) months.
