In collaboration with the University Research Center—Far Eastern University, the Basic Research Methods (BRM) Workshop aims to equip early-career researchers with the foundational knowledge and skills in conducting and writing research. At the end of the training, the participants are expected to deliver a capsule proposal of a health research topic of their interest.
This workshop is open to students and early-career researchers from member institutions, including full-time employees, faculty members, research staff, graduate students, and early-career professionals pursuing research in health and related fields.
The workshop will be conducted onsite on April 14 & 15, 2026, at the Far Eastern University from 8:00AM – 5:00PM. Registration is free of charge; however, please note that only the first thirty (30) participants will be accommodated.

- Early career researchers affiliated with any MMHRDC member institution, preferably with (but not limited to) a postgraduate degree in relevant fields, completed within the past five (5) years.
- Must be a full-time employee in universities/colleges, research agencies/institutes, hospitals, and other health-related agencies if aiming for funding assistance (e.g., RRF Program).
- Kindly note that short, initial screenings will be administered upon registration to ensure eligibility criteria have been met.
- Latest curriculum vitae
- Participants are encouraged to enter this training with their own research topic or question in mind.
- Letter of Intent, endorsed by the Unit Head and the MMHRDC Representative of the institution — this will be requested only from participants who are shortlisted.
- Participants who confirm their attendance but fail to attend or complete the workshop without prior notice or a valid reason will forfeit their eligibility to apply for MMHRDC research grants, future training programs, and workshops for the year.
